Kids Army Party Supplies for Little Patriots

If your child frequently wears camouflage and runs covert missions around your house, a kids army party might be the perfect option when choosing a theme for a birthday celebration. For some families, their reality is that a parent is deployed with the military. For the children in these families this theme allows the child to honor mom or dad and include them in the festivities, even if they are many miles away.

Begin by sending out some special army birthday party invitations. Perhaps have the guest of honor decorate some home made invitations by coloring them in a camouflage pattern. This is easy to achieve using black, tan and green crayons or markers. You’ll also find a fun selection of pre-printed options at most paper stores with a variety of patriotic or military themes and stickers.

Many online stores carry a variety of camouflage paper goods including napkins, table cloths, plates and more. Many of these stores have a variety of kids army party supplies at reasonable prices although you can easily include items in solid colors to match the theme as well. Consider purchasing brown, green and tan colored balloons to add to the decor. For a girl’s party, depending on your child’s preference, consider using pink camouflage as the color scheme.

Don’t forget to search the toy store for additional army party decorations. Pick up a supply of cheap plastic army men. Look for inexpensive trucks and tanks. Check the dress-up aisle for helmets and shirts. Consider purchasing a camouflage t-shirt for each guest to take home. Use them first as decorations, hanging them around the room. If opting for the t-shirts, consider having a permanent marker on hand to allow the guests to sign each others shirts when the event is done. If mom or dad is deployed, don’t forget to have an extra shirt for him or her and have everyone in attendance sign this as well. Depending on what you select for decorations, they may also double as army birthday party favors.

This particular theme lends itself well to plenty of fun games for all ages. If celebrating during warmer months, consider having a water balloon toss with guests pairing up and starting close to each other for the first toss. Have them back up after each successful toss to see which team can throw their ‘hand grenade’ the farthest without dropping it. Try providing a selection of squirt guns and targets. Allow guests to try their marksmanship skills with soakers. Consider sending the guests on a rescue mission. Provide a map with clues that guests must solve in order to find their stranded comrade. The stranded comrade can be a stuffed animal, or maybe some edible treats. Convert the standard ‘pin the tail on the donkey’ game into something to match the theme. Consider ‘pin the medal on the soldier’ or some other variation. With a little imagination you’ll soon have plenty of army birthday party ideas flowing.

On the day of the event, be sure to have your camera ready to capture all the festivities. This is particularly important for those having a parent or other important family member who cannot be in attendance. With the right kids army party supplies, some carefully planned games and food, and guests ready to join in the fun it will surely be a day to remember
